Ma Engineering is the leading supplier and installer of PSR systems worldwide.
PSR systems, also known as real radar in the aviation literature, operate in the S band in the range of 2700 - 2900 Mhz and provide 60 NM grip. Long range PSR systems operate in the L band.
The PSR (Primary Surveillance Radar) system is a system that detects all moving targets in aircraft that do not require any additional equipment.
The PSR system is based on the principle that the electromagnetic wave transmitted from the radar is reflected back from a target and is received back by the radar.
The distance of the target relative to the radar and the antenna direction at the time of reception of the wave and the direction of the target relative to the radar are calculated by the radar system by using the time difference between the time the electromagnetic wave exits the radar and the return time.
With the PSR system, the identification information of the targets cannot be obtained and the height of the target cannot be determined with the standard 2D (2-dimensional) PSR system. Generally, 2D PSR systems are used in civil aviation.
In line with international standards, the PSR system is used in airspaces where radar air traffic control services are provided.
